“Exit Sign” is one installment of a four song story. It is told through the eyes of a man who has recently lost his one true love. All of us have experienced the hardened pain of loss. It is the harshest reality of life. The realization of living without that person, and wondering where their soul has gone (if anywhere), is in the forefront of our minds, believer or not. This man's significant other was taken from our world, murdered by an evildoer--a situation that is all too common in our world today. The song was written off of the chorus. The melody came right away and the first chorus lyric (each chorus is different) soon after. I remember being so excited about it that I called Christian to come over right away! Haha. He seemed to like it as well and I think that may have been the moment that we knew that this could be something. The song is in standard tuning (as are the rest) giving it an honest and even deposition. Now that the song is recorded and finished I listen to the lyrics in first person and see it in a different light. I guess that's the beauty of listening to your own art casually and less critically. However you interpret the song is your decision. Let your own life experience take you there. Enjoy the lyric video, my friends. I am very proud of this jam, and it is our gift to all of you. Download and share away! Fatally Yours, Keith Thompson
